software-defined networking monitoring application (SDN monitoring application)

An SDN monitoring application is a software program that oversees the traffic in a software-defined network (SDN) as a component of network management. Because SDN monitoring applications can be integrated with other SDN applications, they have the capacity to respond to current information about application status, behavior and requirements, as well as network performance and security.

Vendors of SDN monitoring applications include Big Switch Networks and Arista.
